Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised in an ethnically diverse family. Her parents are Malaysian and from Sri Lanka. She was the host of the program Lanka Business Report which focused on the business of Sri Lanka. Padukone's father is a professional badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been raised both in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. She played badminton at the national championships as a teenager but gave her sports career up in order to be a model. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. She is Mangalorean from her birthplace. Her lineage hails from Padukone village, which is located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of the state of Karnataka, India. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is an ex-badminton player with global repute. Her mother is a travel consultant.
